We should not be...These things happen all the time. We should not be surprised when a health addict dies prematurely. The reason is that 'prematurely' is no more or less than an average, statistical figure. In terms of any individual, there is no such thing as 'prematurely'. You peg out when you peg out.

Having said that, we would not want our water supply to be contaminated, and that is what Public Health exists for - to avoid such things.

The idea of 'Public Health' has been hijacked. 'Public Health' has become the means whereby citizens can be persecuted.

""Dr Vivienne Nathanson, head of science and ethics for the British Medical Association, said: "We have to start de-normalising alcohol.""

Who are the 'we'?, one might ask. And is it right that the taxpayer is subsidising this 'we'?

But I want them to carry on with it for a while. I want the Drinking Community to realise that they too are being persecuted. Much as they annoy me, I want to see more and more and more health scares in the MSM until the situation becomes intolerable to The People. We know that this is possible from Climategate.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3141759542968821728.post-5769558816538895902011-03-02T00:54:19.897+00:002011-03-02T00:54:19.897+00:00Just seen Charlie Brooker's "How TV Ruine...Just seen Charlie Brooker's "How TV Ruined Your Life." Obviously I remember all the "Millennium Bug" nonsense (and again, most members of the public saw straight through it straightaway) but I remember it as a vague thing people talked about - not a big deal. He did show footage I'd completely forgotten about though, of the usual healthist suspects saying, "This is a grave danger. There will unfortunately be deaths."

Of course, the Millenium Bug had a deadline so we could all wake up on Jan 1st and think, "As I suspected. Nothing happened." Shame there's no deadline to AGW or passive smoking. That said, someone should show a clip of these wankers warning about deaths from the Millenium Bug, catastrophic 10%+ of population deaths from bird flu, the same for swine flu etc etc to our politicians. Then maybe they'd realise these people are deranged hypochondriacs with a morbid fear of death and a passive hatred of life (or at least, what makes life worth living).Mr Ahttp://mr--a.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3141759542968821728.post-65891512968711477912011-03-01T23:18:08.344+00:002011-03-01T23:18:08.344+00:00It's normally disrespectful to dance on somebo...It's normally disrespectful to dance on somebody's grave and piss on it.

But this time I'll make an exception :-)Mark Wadsworthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07733511175178098449noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3141759542968821728.post-54673395252206866592011-03-01T22:43:37.337+00:002011-03-01T22:43:37.337+00:00We can only hope that proverbial high standards wi...We can only hope that proverbial high standards will be lowered significantly in the near future, say... soon after c*ntish public nonentity celebrates his/hers 34th b-day?just passing bynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3141759542968821728.post-21787072366360381362011-03-01T22:13:49.673+00:002011-03-01T22:13:49.673+00:00"Dr. Daines set a very high standard for futu..."Dr. Daines set a very high standard for future health commissioners, and he will be greatly missed."

Not by most New Yorkers I would guess.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3141759542968821728.post-48627176982818456682011-03-01T22:00:34.060+00:002011-03-01T22:00:34.060+00:00Hahaha - I hope Richard Daines winds up in the Cig...Hahaha - I hope Richard Daines winds up in the Cigar Room in Hades, being force-fed thickshakes.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3141759542968821728.post-38244751004758989932011-03-01T21:10:43.025+00:002011-03-01T21:10:43.025+00:00Public Health advocates; AKA PHannies.Public Health advocates; AKA PHannies.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3141759542968821728.post-81224232706985894612011-03-01T20:56:08.267+00:002011-03-01T20:56:08.267+00:00The reaper smokes a pipe ?The reaper smokes a pipe ?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3141759542968821728.post-91268079514662292952011-03-01T19:35:56.852+00:002011-03-01T19:35:56.852+00:00Oh, you haven't heard that one before?
