Good for Hawaii. Kids shouldn't be playing with toy guns, they should be learning how to handle real ones safely and responsibly. Er... that is the idea, isn't it? ;-)

Thank you for an interesting selection. Pity the "cheat the taxman" story wouldn't load. Maybe it's been blocked.

The Landing of the Thompson Jet was really interesting.

Not only did you get to see the incident but also hear the Pilot/ATC comms.

All were very professional.

Frank - it's back. I seem to have intermittent trouble with my server (often on a Saturday indeed!).

I see from the newspapers today that a couple of airmen have been imprisoned for smuggling cigarettes. Several million fags I see.

I few years ago, I would have been disgusted at their behaviour, but not now. They are heroes!

Their sentences seem to be between 2 and 3 years. I wonder what sentence the thieving MP will get?

But, no doubt, while inside for 12 months or so, they will learn how to smuggle and not get caught.

By the way, I note that their haul went the the North East - no wonder that official smoking figures for the North East have fallen! Also, there are several ports in the North East..... If a couple of amateur airmen can do it, think about what the professionals can do.

And why? Because a packet of fags is almost as 'valuable' (at £6 - E8 in Ireland) as the headline cost of a flight to Prague. I am going there soon; the total cost of the flight is the equivalent of 200 fags.

Smuggling (of all sorts) is now an heroic activity as The Smoking Community see it. Another 'unintended consequence' promoted by ASH and co.

Dick: It's serious shanting, no doubt!

AE: Mischievous. ;)

Westcoast2: They were all interesting in their own way but that one also stood out for me when watching.

Junican: Amen to that. :)
