14. A tobacco free target would require commitment, accountability, careful planning and modelling. Different types of strategies would need to be employed, for example reducing the nicotine content of tobacco products, reducing the number and concentration of retail outlets and setting limits on the volume of tobacco that could be imported and sold.So, in case you were wondering, those are the next targets for the tobacco control industry after the smoking ban; raised legal age of purchase; tobacco display ban; vending machine ban; smoking ban in cars etc etc etc.
Well, you didn't think the tobacco control Goliath would just stop after plain packaging, did you? The new Mercedes, conservatory and loft extension don't come without more of that tax lolly, you know.
Personally, I thought they'd go for smoker licences next, but that's obviously one to bank for the future alongside banning multiple products for each brand of tobacco.
