Won't Somebody Think Of The Non-Smokers?

If this is true, it's an extremely damning statistic.

A separate Scottish government report shows that since the smoking ban there has a 19 per drop in heart attacks among smokers [sic].
Now, considering that according to NHS admissions data, there has been no significant reduction in heart attacks overall in Scotland since the ban ...

... then there must have been almost as large a corresponding increase in heart attacks amongst non-smokers since March 2006.

Wasn't the whole point of the exercise to protect non-smokers from passive smoke?

More big, fat, epic fail for smoking bans, then.

It is due to the non smokers going purple in the face trying to prove their moral indignation as they walk past hundreds of smokers now forced into their precence by doing exactly what the non smokers asked for, when smokers were banned from inside buildings.

Since, by definition, smokers smoke tobacco, it must be that smoking has a protective effect against heart attacks.

And the absence of smoke in public places has removed that protection from non-smokers, who are now dying in droves.

If you did want people to die more often you'd remove a source of niacin.

The unrestricted use of tobacco results in too many independent minded self-thinking persons who in the relaxed state induced by tobacco smoking are able to see the reality of situations for what they are and are thus less likely to fall victim to the propaganda of the state. Niacin may indeed be just one of the naturally occurring products resulting from smoking a green natural herbal plant from heaven such as is tobacco from which this effect is caused. Once enough non-thinking group-think non/anti-smokers have been manufactured through social conditioning and legal proscription as per the war on smokers tries to make happen, then so much the easier to spring ID cards and eventually embedded ID chips - as they will be seen as the ultimate "protection" instead of the intrusion and control device that they are. It is like a social lobotomy - remove the thinking bits and replace it with non-thinking bits - then bring in the final control through pharmaceuticals and eventually, the microchip - at which point total control is clamped tight once and for all - is my guess on the whole affair. Today's parents will be hated by their children and grand-children should the young ones ever wake up to seeing through the smoke-screen of the war on smokers and avoid being micro-chipped. Parents had better hope and pray, for the sake of their respect by future generations, the ploy by state to undermine and then control future generations achieves its intended outcome.

There has also been a drop in the number of smokers (& increase in non-smokers), not a new drop, it has been going on for years. I don't know if it is more, less or equal to 19% but my guess would be close to equal.

However you are right to think such figures are used regularly by the bansturbators.

Love it!

..so by standing outside an otherwise empty pub for a fag my risk of heart attack has been reduced by 19%

..and I didn't even need to quit smoking!

STOP PRESS:
Eating deep-fried fois gras drizzled with maple syrup while standing in the rain in the middle of a field will reduce your cholesterol!

The same, and ONLY reason, I can see for the otherwise inexplainable downer that Governments have on Canabis.
