The letter will be sent this week to Bishop O'Byrne Housing for Seniors Association who are threatening to throw this lady out of her accommodation. If you'd like to express your distaste for such an astoundingly heartless move, e-mail Rich at richwhite (at) smokescreens.org and he will add you to the list of signatories.
This may be in North America, home of the most brainless of anti-smoking lunacy, but it's time the more egregious psychos were called out on their actions which - yet again - are nothing whatsoever to do with health.

Agreed, Carl. There have been muted mutterings of 'interventions into smoking in the home' over here too, as I've mentioned before.
North America is the continent but Calgary is in Canada.

Smoking isn't that addictive. So an ex-smoker's major problem is that it is quite easy to "relapse" after giving up.
It is therefore necessary to demonise smoking and ban it everywhere to reduce your own chances of resuming.
This particular tribe combines with the Righteous (c. Leg Iron) to produce the invincible, unfeeling crusaders we have today.
There is no known antidote to this (in the same way that the outwardly prim and proper Victorians produced some of the most bizzare pornography ever written) so smokers will have to accept the persecution until it becomes fashionable again - which it will...
l see the weather forecast for tonight in Calgary is -4C and it's only October. Lowest temps recorded for winter were -45C! ... and they say she can smoke outside!!!!
