REVIEW THE SMOKING BANSigning is very simple and will take less than a minute if already logged into your e-mail. Please do add your signature and also forward the link to all fair-minded friends, family and acquaintances if you can.
We petition the Government to review the impact of the smoking ban on pubs and clubs and consider an amendment that would give licensees the option of separate well-ventilated smoking rooms.
To access the e-petition, CLICK HERE.
Any further promotion of this initiative would be much appreciated. Please post it at your blog if you have one, or add a sidebar link to the petition as I have done. Alternatively, alerting Facebook friends or retweeting the URL to your followers would be very helpful.
We know there is support for such an amendment, all that's needed is to spread the word. The more we reach before the closing date, the better.
Ta in advance, folks.
UPDATE: Having been prompted by commenters (thirsty to sign more petitions, which is good), it's worth putting up links to others which are relevant.
We have two more along the same lines which deserve support:
Amend the smoking ban by Daniel Connolly
Amend the smoking ban by Gary Robinson
And, of course, this one is also a must while you have your e-pen out to e-sign.
Stop government funding of ASH by David Walker
Or, you could sign Councillor Paul Bartlett's one, which he wrote in crayon and submitted in a Peppa Pig envelope. Bless.

Done
Will do DP but how many of these have we to sign ffs. Lets get a consensus at least and fire with deep penetration rather than high explosives on the tank that these people are.
True ArtCo, there's a couple of petitions already up that are asking to amend the ban. They should be amalgamated into this petition. l have my reservations about petitions but if you don't play you can't win.
I agree Smoking, btw the word verification on that site is dodgy is it not, took me 3 times to get it right , seems to me like they don't want you to sign up , but ok , I may be blind but persevere and you get there.
'Lets get a consensus at least and fire with deep penetration'
In fact could this not work with most 'petitions' , someone should open a 'pre petition shop' to amalgamate all the signatures prior to posting. Not me I hasten to add , im an artist . lol
ArtCo: My thoughts precisely. I haven't mentioned the other petitions as I don't know the people who wrote them, and as you say, the message will be diluted by some signing one, others signing others.
This one has a well-known name to it and backing, so it's the one I think we should seriously focus on.
The simple answer to the multiple petitions situation is to sign them all for the time being! That is what I have done - I have just signd the new petition which Simon clark has highlighted "Stop funding ASH".
Phil's also posted about this over at our place. Signed both, the other petition is one of Simon Clark's men I beleive.
Yeah. Just sign 'em all. It bugs me though to have to petition the govt to do something they already committed to when they brough the bloody ban in.
Maybe we could do with a list of links to all the pro-choice petitions to make sure none of them get neglected.
Good idea George, perhaps worth an update. :)
All duly signed, lets hope it gains a lot of momentum.
As a non-smoker, I've signed the petition which seems very reasonable.
I've also put a bit on my own blog at English Pensioner
830 signatures now after two days' promotion. Needs 5,000 to get on the front page.
However, experience from the previous petition system suggests that some kind of national media attention is needed to really stimulate interest - it isn't enough just to go viral round the web.
Also it's disappointing that, unlike the previous system, you can't read the names of signatories.
Thanks for the support, EP. :)
done and it was finally acknowledged!
I've signed several of these things now, but I've yet to receive a single email from them requesting authentication.
So I probably haven't really signed any of them.
