Ever felt conned? EU Constitution, Health Act 2006, now this.
The chancellor tore up a key New Labour election pledge by unveiling a new 50p tax rate for earnings over £150,000.
It really is about time the document presented to us prior to GE 2005 was filed under fiction.
Nothing to see here, says Nick Robinson.
BBC Political Editor Nick Robinson said Labour had ditched its manifesto pledge not to raise income tax before the next election in an effort to "wrongfoot" its opponents and cheer its core supporters, as well as raising money.

Feel conned on a daily basis by these idiots
DP, Labour don't even adhere to what they say so why should they adhere to something trivial like a manifesto?
It really is about time Nick Robinson began earning his annual salary too, by telling us something we don't know. His comments also smack a tad of excusing what is a breach of trust by the Labour Party - ie being elected on a lie!
Good Pithy Post - as usual!
Since when did the Labour Party give a fuck about manifestos ?
This will give the Tories a great opportunity to rip their next one to shreds.
