Patricia Hewitt, clinically obese Liam Donaldson, Alan Johnson, Caroline Flint, Dawn Primarolo, this is all down to you, you hideous, self-righteous cunts.
War veteran fined £100 for smoking in hotel room
War veteran Cyril remains astonished at today's prices but little did he imagine that a single cigarette would ever cost him £100!
But that is the price that former RAF airman Cyril was forced to pay when he was "fined" after lighting-up in his room at four star hotel.
Retired bus inspector Cyril and his wife Lydia, 93, of Birkdale, Southport, decided to take a mini-holiday in their home town and booked into the £150-a-night Ramada Plaza.
But to their astonishment when they came to check-out the couple had a £100 "smoking fine" slapped on their bill.
I'd have just walked out, telling them I'd see them in court, after a string of expletives, but then I'm not 96.
"They kept us for nearly an hour waiting at the reception and they would not let us leave until we paid the fine."
Angry? I'm fizzing! But let's listen to the other side of the story first, eh?
A spokesman for the Ramada Hotel Southport said: "It is hotel policy to fine guests who smoke one hundred pounds.
The cost of preparing a room where someone has been smoking is closer to two hundred pounds."
Oh do fuck right off, you ridiculous cunt. £200 for a bit of air freshener and a minimum wage Polish cleaner to open a window?
Asked wether the fine might be waived in light of Cyril's age the spokesman added: "If we waive a fine for one then we would have to waive it for all."
OK. How about this, then. How about I take a few members of your family, starve them for a couple of years, shave their heads and then throw them into a concrete room and gas them for being related to you?
Not fair? Perhaps not. But it fits entirely with the thinking of people who Cyril fought against on your behalf. Do you get the idea yet why you might be viewed by some as disgusting, ungrateful fucktards?
Labour have actively encouraged behaviour like this. The cult of the 'now'. The eradication of individual value in favour of a generalisation of character defined by lifestyle choices. They've brainwashed so many of the intellectually-challenged in our society that some are already implementing their health-extremist ideas. Another prime example being Alan Johnson's cockmongering idea of 'health mentors' being enforced already without payment.
Thick as shit people will always believe thick as shit advice from thick as shit politicians. The blame for the abuse of this guy can be laid squarely at the door of Labour and their free-spending, dictatorial chums at the Department of Health (the ones who have been slapped down by the Advertising Standards Authority twice recently, remember).
So much for Labour's support for war veterans then. Not that they really meant it anyway, the filthy lying shits.
If you value freedom in your life. Don't. Vote. Labour.

DP, you just KNEW I would comment on this.
I stay in hotels a lot and am used to this sort of shit. I am younger than Cyril and therefore understand the non smoking scenario. I expect nobody told him he was in a non-smoking room. He probably has not stayed in a hotel in years and didn't understand the stupidity now.
I stay in a certain hotel a lot which is non smoking. It is only made better by the marvellous staff and the fact that I can crawl to and from the smoking bar 100 metres away (obviously not here)
I know the staff well as I met most of them when they were out on smoke breaks. They have even said that the smoking charge in that hotel ($200) is not justified and is only a money making exercise borne out of the hysteria surrounding smoking and obviously making the hotel chain a load of cash through jumping on the bandwagon. There have even been people who have put their $200 on the desk on the first day and asked for an ashtray....so it's all about health and safety then?
btw, have looked around previously on various forums on a particular hotel chain that I refuse to stay in anymore as they have gone totally non-smoking in n america and canada. I have read some horror stories about folks who have been outside for a cig but, due to either cigarette packets in the bin or smell of smoke in the room (from their clothes) they are charged the smoking fine. It is all down to how much of a do gooder the maid and/or housekeeper is. I am so pleased that my charge is decided depending on how much of a self righteous twit the first person cleaning the room is. I wonder if the hotels actually give a bonus for finding a smoker in the rooms....
I am ex forces and have a lot of respect for our veterans. However, regardless whether they are veterans or not, surely our older folks deserve some respect anyway. I still doubt they explained the no smoking rule to him and, if they did, so what. He has paid for a room, not for a rule ridden jail.
cunts
If it cost £200 to prepare a room after a smoker has used it, how come non-smoking rooms weren't £200 cheaper than smoking rooms a few years back then?
Andy
So just boycott smoking ban hotels, a choice we were never offered with pubs.
Unfortunately a lot of the major hotel chains don't offer any smoking rooms at all, even though they are legally entitled to. "As demanded by our customers", apparently. Of course it is, how could anyone think otherwise?
I noticed that almost everyone commenting on the original news story has said that they would boycott Ramada hotels in future. Unfortunately, I'm not in a position to offer them any business in the first place which I can now withdraw, so I figure that the next best thing, should I find myself in need of overnight accommodation, I shall set light to one and keep myself warm by the fireside.
I may even toast some marshmallows..
What would they fine Mr. Jacqui Smith for spunking up all over the carpet ?
