Johnny Ball's Final BBC Appearance

Well, they won't be inviting him back after this, will they?

Go, go. Go, Johnny, go.

Lobbyists drive the green agenda.
Whenever a government enacts a crazy policy that makes no sense whatsoever it's always down to lobbyists.
No I don't think the green BBC will have him on again.
I think they thought they might be able to show him up a bit as the usuall hatchet job they do on the climatically rational.
It backfired ,what he said would make perfect sense to just about anyone.
I was suprised at Andrew Neil, he did appear to show some impartiality, how odd ?
Darling showed himself up for what he is.
A Lobbyist's puppet.

Well done Johnny, even if he does make his film, the BBC will make sure he is setup like a kipper.

I hated the way Hammond and Darling smirked at him and Darling tried the classic trick of distraction to move away from the uncomfortable points Johnny was making.

Anon: I do believe I heard somewhere that Andrew Neil is a bit of a sceptic himself.

How can Hammond sit there with a straight face and say onshore wind power does not require a subsidy? He must know what a Feed In Tariff is.
Or does he take the pedantic politicians view that since this is paid directly by the consumer via their electricity bills it is somehow not a subsidy?
What a reptile.

@DP
Yes Andrew Neil does come across as a rational man.
As does Sissons.

Yep, I too loathed Darling's superciliousness (and, as ex-Chancellor why would he have a better handle on the issue anyway?).

JB for Energy Secretary, I say.

Superb. Darling the flipper is an utter twat.
That short video is the most sensible thing I've seen for years. Perhaps I should get out more.

It's well worth going over to http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/blog/2011/mar/03/bbc-climate-change-science and winding up the pro AGW fanatics in the comments. I've been having a real battle with a couple who have now resorted to calling me names. How unexpected. Such uncouth chaps at the Grauniad. Go on, get stuck in!

Following on from my recommendation to go to the Grauniad, don't bother they'll just delete anything you say that doesn't agree with global warming. All five of my posts have gone!

I feel a bit sorry for poor old Johnny. He is brave and correct, but his reputation will be demolished for this stand he is taking.

@ Anon 19.40

Are you stOckwell, by any chance? I have just been the the Graun and noticed your 'complaints'.

It certainly seems to be true that there are a lot of posts which support global warming and not many which don't. I wonder what the moderators consider to be 'out of order'? Very strange.

Can I just remind you that it is very easy to use your 'avatar' here? Just click 'name/URL.

The point is that it makes it easier for us all to identify and refer to your posts.

Well said Johnny Ball. Was it just me, or did those highly-paid politicians look like complete twats in comparison? They had no answer to JB's stats and both had that hunted expression of those who know they're out of their depth.

And those two are among our top politicians.
