Ciggy Busters Find A Champion

Corrugated Soundbite has spotted a lefty flinging red herrings all over Medway in defence of the 'Ciggy Busters', and so performs a double righteous take-down with pike.

The blogroll swells once more.

Just left a comment. Comments are moderated. Is this normal for politicians' blogs?

(left the comment at Tristan's place)

Moderation is almost compulsory on lefty blogs. They like to filter out dissent, control is everything.

Many thanks for the link, DP.

Belinda: Comments are always unmoderated at my humble gaff. Pile in and hunt the hunters ;-)

Dunno about Pike DP ..

Take-down with Bill-hook might be more appropriate ..

What a jumped-up little squit he is ...

Just been to look at the comments and it looks like he's shot everybody down in flames with 2 replies he's just posted (7:30pm).

Do his "Akela" or his Mother know that's he's playing on the internet .. when he should be studing for his "Tenderfoot" badge, or doing his homework ? ..

Anon @ 19:51: No he didn't. Let's list what he did do, in order.

Prologue: Only published comments he chose

1) Employed emotive nonsense to avoid facing a plain fact about his party's changed attitude towards the working class.

2) Refused to acknowledge evidence contrary to his opinion, instead choosing to talk about primary smoking, which isn't in question.

3) Fell back to the typical socialist position of denying that Nazism employed left wing policies. While simultaneously, err, arguing that a denormalisation of law-abiding people is acceptable (see the irony there?).

4) Answered a comment about the poor record of doctors by saying that doctors must be trusted (and again pointing to primary smoking which no-one challenged).

5) Avoided accusations of using a straw man by trotting out another.

6) Showed an ignorance that those who "have undertaken decades of research" are not actually "qualified scientists and clinicians" but instead, number-crunchers and, in the case of the most famous in the world, aircraft engineers.

7) Agreeing that a theft may have been committed if, as the teacher herself has admitted, members of the public had their property stolen (it's still unclear if these arrogant kids gave the fags back afterwards).

8) The one where he actually listened and had some semblance of a point.

9) "In a private property or house, absolutely no problem" - Pubs are privately owned.

Epilogue: Whereas before he deliberately talked about primary smoking - and its incontrovertible harms - when challenged about passive smoking, here he switches it round to talk about passive smoking in the open air, which no scientist has ever shown to be a danger. Just to remind you, the Ciggy Busters operated in a High Street.

Apart from that, yeah, the guy done great.

Now, if he could just remember the adage "don't believe all you read in the Graun" or Labour manifestos, he could be a decent writer.

As things stand though, he's an ignorant tool.

DP: Would you mind awfully if I shoved your last comment into my own post (with a backlink, obviously)? Seems an incredibly accurate summary, and one that deserves more publicity...

Mi casa, su casa, CS. You don't need permission with a libertarian. :)

Points well taken DP, though in my original comment I said 'looks like' he's shot everybody down, meaning that that's the way it appears to those who read his blog.

I'm a smoker, oppose the ban and the fake 'scientific' evidence that goes with it so I agree with everyone here whole heartedly.

I love your blog, and read it and many others on a daily basis - yourself, captain ranty, old holborn, leg iron to mention a few, though as far as lawful rebellion goes I have only just donned the L plates.

Indeed, and it looks like he's not allowing any comments to the contrary.

With such control freakery and inability to debate, there's only one party he could possibly be a member of, eh? ;)
