Welcome Home

Having just completed the 235 mile drive back from Antwerp, the very first article I've read since Friday (via Snowolf) is this carbon-copied, sanctimonious, hypocritical, hectoring pile of rancid arse-ejected cockwaffle from Professor Steve Field.

Parents who smoke in cars in front of small children are "committing a form of child abuse", a leading GP has said.

Professor Steve Field, chairman of the Royal College of General Practitioners, has condemned society's attitudes to food, alcohol and cigarettes.
I have little energy - after lugging my weekend's haul of UK tax-depriving tobacco, B&H, and viniculture** into the house - to tear the guy's head off and shout down the hole. Fortunately, commenters to the article are giving him a justified roasting anyway.

So I'll merely offer him a deal. I will stop enjoying tobacco, alcohol and rich foods once the medical profession, of which Steve Field is a member, stop killing people. A hell of a lot of people, in fact. Can't say fairer than that, Steve you porky pillock, now can I?

For a more thoughtful deconstruction, pop over to Longrider's place.

** And yes, more bloody cheese

90,000 iatrogenic deaths p.a., compared to 104,000 caused by "smoking related" illness. How many of those have been double counted, and how many of the latter have been included in the stats when they shouldn't have beem we'll never know. 90,000 per annum- the medics are killing a lot of people, so perhaps they should shut the fuck up and get their house in order.

Looks like nobody told the pompous git that CiF has a fair few hecklers ... :-)

Pushing himself forward to wag a politically correct pudgy finger at the populace...

Oh for a few virtual rotten tomatoes! Sometimes words are not enough.
