Here it is! Greenwich based Dutch By Design have come out with the Guardianista Christmas hit of the year.
The Home Duvet lets you sleep under a cardboard box so a homeless person doesn't have to!
Feeling that empathy for the homeless on your way back from the Fabian Wine Bar? Still hating yourself for pretending to be busy on your Blackberry when passing the Big Issue seller at Highbury & Islington tube? Wondering with your dinner guests, over your Aga-cooked 'Cutlet of Quorn with pine nut jus', what you can do to help the under-privileged without actually having to suffer the smell and give them money?
No problem. Simply adorn your minimally-furnished, but fashionable, former social housing maisonette (comprising vintage indigenous 60s London fireplace), with this Duvet, for the full guilt-assuaging Cardboard City experience.
After all, it's in a righteously good cause.
30% of the gross profits go to Centrepoint, the UK charity for homeless young people aged 16-25 (charity number 292411).
Then again, you could just give the £50 straight to the charity if you really care that much.
Good grief.

I can think of better things to waste my money on, though were I to give it to the homeless, I do it direct.
Whats wrong with sleeping on the
street,at least one can have a

lectured to by some squawking
local council guardian angel.

QM - don't make rash promises. There might be a lot of homeless people soon. If it's me I'll buy a caravan and a battered Transit and call myself a 'Traveller'.
Anon- good point, the smoking ban does not extend to cardboard boxes... yet.
As for the filth that decided it was funny to print a cardboard box on a quilt, well there are words but I restrict my use of them and the Brown Gorgon exceeds my quota every month anyway.
Cardboard is a pretty good insulator and cheaper than a quilt too. And it's green. I think we should persuade all the Green God's drones to sell their houses and live on the street. We should do it as fast as possible.
When spring comes round, there won't be so many of them.
This is a spoof, right? Something from the 'Daily Mash'?
Isn't it..?

read page 30 onwards; reads like a who's who of psuedo-government agit prop- wonder what percentage these DfES and local government grants these make up of the whole?
Am I the only one who thinks there is something deeply wrong with a charity with a pension scheme? When was the last time any if these left-leaning cretins picked up a dictionary and read the actual definition of charity?
