No-one ever comments on your Saturday link thread posts. Congratulations on your 150th, DP. Can I claim my gilded plate now?
Sign me up for half a dozen of those gilded plates, DP. They will, I'm sure, make for a very much appreciated Christmas gift...
Er, this will be one of those limited edition offers with a monthly payment plan, complete with a promise that this tasteful and superbly crafted commemorative plate will undoubtedly become a highly collectable item in the years ahead and therefore represents an excellent long term investment opportunity.
Yes ;)
Oh absolutely ... but which will end up at a boot sale for 50p and a free soft toy.
That story about the Heros of Science and the lack of female and minority representation reminds me of a story in The Register (on phone so can't easily link) where a conference in Manchester on the computer language Ruby was cancelled after someone in California on twitter noted that the line up of speakers was all white males. What is it with progressives wanting every single event in the world to have full representation of minorities.
Presume Savile article was about the Durham students. Very funny. Link is broken. My niece was in those halls last year. Don't know whether it was the same party, but she was recently voted as having the longest legs. Shouldn't they have just measured them? Anyhow, she doesn't seem too traumatised by being objectified in this way.
On the Saville thing, what mechanism does the University have to enforce the fines and community service? Could (should) the students not just tell 'em to fuck off and die?
