Huge protest against excessive regulation and the nanny stateBut hold your horses, the opposition submitted some themselves today.
Over 235,000 people have signed a petition against plain packaging of tobacco.
MORE THAN 75,000 people have so far signed up to support Cancer Research UK’s ‘The answer is plain’ campaignThat's encouraging.
A three to one ratio in favour of 'oh do stop fussing' is very interesting, isn't it?
I'm sure there's more to come with this stuff, but today is a good day in my opinion.

Your link's duff there...
The problem is that the committee will just spin it, that this is only a small amount compared with the population of the UK. They'll neglect to mention Tobacco control's piss poor score. They've filled the committee with placemen who are too thick to realise that they're being played for the fools that they are.
I would like to hope...............................
Fixed. :)
OK, who wants to take a bet on how long it’ll be before the plain-packagers come out with the line that the huge number of responses against this proposal are either largely “tobacco company stooges” or as a result of a “concerted campaign by the tobacco companies” or something along those lines … My money’s on a week – anybody want to take a punt on a fortnight?
It will start as soon as their figures are announced. Friday latest.
The fact that the public thinks the idea is barking will not even cross their tiny minds.
We're all stupid and mis-informed. apparently.
