Velvet Glove, Iron Fist

The eagle-eyed may have noticed a new link to the left of the page.

Christopher Snowdon's book, Velvet Glove Iron Fist, has been well reviewed elsewhere so not much need for me to say that it is extremely well-written, with an eye to wit, whilst not distracting focus from the matter in hand - that of an unending avalanche, throughout history, of lies from those who really should have had their bottoms spanked harder when they were young. But I'll say it anyway.

Clicking on the cover pic will take you direct to Chris's site, where you can buy it at the same price as Amazon charge, but with free postage and it will arrive signed by the author, too.

Note to you boys and girls at ASH. I hope you bought a copy each with our taxes and didn't just share the one. You waste enough of our money without being tightwads when it comes to analysis of the smoking debate which involves some element of truth.

(Dick won't be benefitting from this ad link, but I know a good non-fake cause which might)

As someone who, I am told, is a bit of an anorak on smoking statistics, I am reading Chris' book too. The content is breath taking and is written in an entertaining way.

You really can't put it down.
