Another One Bites The Dust

In his capacity as Health Secretary in July 2007, there were few facets more putrid about the implementation of the smoking ban than Alan Johnson's triumphant rejoicing in front of the British media. Sporting a satisfied grin, he gleefully revelled in legislatively re-casting more than a fifth of the population as second class citizens.

How gratifying it is, then, to watch his very public cuckolding whilst at the very height of his political powers. Following in the filth-strewn path trodden by David Chaytor, Margaret Moran and other rancid fucks, Johnson heads back to obscurity in gloriously humiliating fashion.

Quite right too.

Each time one of these odious, anti-social, community vandals gets their comeuppance, I always feel someone up above is enjoying a hearty chuckle.

Ain't Schadenfreude great?

And not yet banned, either...

Chuckle, Dick? More like a guffaw. Well down here, anyway.

Johnson was one of the few people in the top Labour ranks who once had job in the real world. I feel rather sorry for him.

Alongside the lifetime polit-creeps, he seemed a relatively wholesome specimen. Banning smoking is on a par with global warming - a craze in which people with little sense and ambitions to boss others about like to get involved. The same applies to nearly all our political class of whatever party.

Neither my wife nor I smoke but we always put out ash trays for visitors and try to restrain them from creeping outside for a puff. Nonetheless, they are so demoralised (or trying to be considerate) that they nearly always do

And if Johnson, with his knowledge of 'real jobs', had made a principled stand against such nonsense, I, too, might have felt a twinge of sympathy.

But since he didn't - tee hee!

Jumped up postman gets his hands on the bully stick. Fortunately he's put the stick down but the root cause of the problem, the availability of a single top trump bully stick remains. Who's next in line for a go?

Good riddance.

I suspect this has more to do than just his marriage, but also an excuse to escape a job he was incapable of.

Yo Dickie,

Well off he goes, with his cheeks glowing in embarrassment, cuckolded by his wife and protection officer, her thighs still sore from the friction of standard issue police uniform trousers.

Corruption, immorality, dishonesty, betrayal, deception and lies all round, another wonderful example of our political class and law enforcement standards.

Not that I`m an angel, but I am loyal and have a sense of duty.

Someone tell Johnson that happiness is a cigar called Hamlet.

Edward Spalton: You sound like a very kind man. I'm all out of forgiveness by now though, unfortunately.

Stan: What an evocative description of the tryst ... send it to Alan Johnson. ;)

AE: Hehe :)

They were talking about Johnson this morning on The Wright Stuff and gushing about how he was one of the last of 'us' in the Labore party, you know, he used to have a proper job as a postman, and full of praise and sympathy in equal measure...well I fucking didn't, fucking hate the bastard with a passion for what he did to 'us.'

The mans a lying C***!

How is a postman a "real" job? It is public sector to the core. Nothing real there.

The Public Whip has Alan Johnson voting no on the amended health bill/

Is there something I'm missing here?

EricTheMad said...

Sorry for repeat post but it has come to my attention that the fucking health minister at the time voted AGAINST the amendment to ban smoking from private clubs! Seriously, what the fucking fuck!?

Eric: I was talking about the remarks he made in front of the cameras at the time. They were triumphal and deeply insulting. If he truly cared about smokers and what he had done by voting with the primary legislation, he could have shown some empathy for smokers but he didn't.

You know, something like "I understand that smokers might be upset but ...". No. His response was that it was the "single most important public health legislation for a generation".

Like smokers are a fucking plague or something.

He was in a position of power in the DH and sold working people out. Guilty as fuck. Sorry.

Dick, I agree wholeheartedly. I'm just a little confused by the level of hypocrisy he's clearly shown here. I would also have thought that the health minister voting against the insertion of the clause into the health bill undermines the legislation just a little bit.
