Why Not Just Eat The Dog?

Forget revolution by the disaffected. It's quite possible that ever-increasing righteous lunacy could spark some giggleworthy violent confrontations amongst right-on groups.

Just last week I mentioned the call for a ban on Halal and Kosher, which could pit animal rights groups against Judaism and Islam. Now it seems that the enviro-loons are getting in on the act by advising that we change our choice of pet to save the planet, thereby seeing PETA's 'save the sea kittens' stake, and raising it big time by going 'all-in' with domesticating, and eating, rabbits and chickens instead.

The eco-pawprint of a pet dog is twice that of a 4.6-litre Land Cruiser driven 10,000 kilometres a year, researchers have found.

Victoria University professors Brenda and Robert Vale, architects who specialise in sustainable living, say pet owners should swap cats and dogs for creatures they can eat, such as chickens or rabbits

"If you have a German shepherd or similar-sized dog, for example, its impact every year is exactly the same as driving a large car around," Brenda Vale said.

"A lot of people worry about having SUVs but they don't worry about having Alsatians and what we are saying is, well, maybe you should be because the environmental impact ... is comparable."

Divide and conquer, it would seem, is not a one way street.

Of course, the simple solution is just to cut the crap and eat the dog. And why not? Some do.

Here's one prepared earlier.

I don't know much about the rich, but at some point, the righteous may very well eat themselves. Wouldn't that be a fight worth buying on pay-per-view?

According to that research my goldfish has a negligible effect on Climate Carnage so I'm alright, Jack.

I've been looking out for these instances of righteous collisions a lot recently, and they're happening on a daily basis.

Here's another good one:

I'm surprised that the righteous haven't been claiming that cats and dogs pose a major health risk, and cause - oh, think of a number, 50, that'll do - 50 million premature deaths each year among chiiiildren. Then they can set out to denormalise pet ownership, and the notion of a dogs being man's best friend.

I'm sure they're working on it.

Frank Davis:

Funny you should mention that, as Leg iron found a hilarious attempt at a scare story insinuating that cats spread MRSA.

Good article Dick :-)

From Corrugated Soundbite's link about car sharing....

"A Home Office spokesman said: "The UK already has one of the most advanced systems in the world for intrusively spying on its population. Set up in the wake of the Soham murders, the new Vetting and Barring Scheme will from October this year ensure these regulations are even more rigorous, nannying and prodnosing.
We will not be happy until everyone is banned from working with anyone."

Ta for the nod, MWMC.

Corrugated Soundbite: Interesting link. It really does seem like the obtrusiveness is beginning to interfere with other righteous initiatives, doesn't it?

Pretty to watch. :-)
