Shake 'n' Vac To Be Made Compulsory In Scotland

Finally, a reason to swallow my dignity and visit the kilties.

Unhealthy Scots told to vacuum and 'dance around the house'
If they make this mandatory, I might consider popping up to Subrosa's house for the show.

It has BigYin! The article goes on about take the stairs instead of the lift. I don't have stairs or a lift so I'm off to email them to ask what else I can do.

Need permission see?

That Shake and Vac Stuff - worst invention ever with it's chemical smell.

You're welcome though Dick, but of course only if you do the hoovering for 30 minutes a day as we're instructed. :)

"Shona Robison, Scottish public health minister, said the campaign was “about getting active, having fun and feeling good”. "

Nothing makes people feel better than having some highly paid government minister tell them what to do.

I can't see this backfiring at all.. ;)

And to think that taxpayers' money will be spent on this initiative.

Subrosa: I seem to have been strangely prescient with this post. I'm like Alastair Campbell for once ... you do the hoovering and the dancing, I'll be happy to sit and offer encouragement. ;-)

How large does one's house have to be to reasonably accomodate 30 minutes of vacuuming a day?

Or do I need to build an extension..?

By the by, am I the only one feeling somewhat gender-confused by this?

"Mr Millar, a journalist and former adviser to Cherie Blair, said she'd realised too late that the "lofty" ideals of feminism would always be thwarted by practical issues such as who has to do the laundry and look after the household."

Perhaps it's just a Freudian slip of some sort.
